Happy Spring! As the father of two young girls and the husband of a doctor, I am always relieved to see the end of cold and flu season.
First, let me say how grateful I am for the opportunity to lead the Postsecondary Success strategy, and to continue to work with – and learn from – all of you. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the months ahead.
As Allan Golston said in his note introducing me, our strategy is about comprehensive institutional change that draws on scaling innovation designed to better serve today’s college students.
But what do we mean when we say “scaling?” It can be a tricky term, with different meanings for different people.
I’ve put together some initial thoughts on scaling questions, and I welcome your feedback. I plan to continue a dialogue on the role of scale in our goal of closing access and success gaps by race and income so look for that in various engagements going forward. And I’m excited to continue our work together!
